I just added a new video to the archive. Click here to go there. It is a promotional video for Southern Assault which is a local robotics competition put on by S.E.C.R. Southeastern Robotic Combat. So, why am I putting the video here? One reason is to help raise awareness of the event. The other reason? Because Moebius is in the promo video not once, but twice! And, either he or the damage that he caused is in the Flash intro for Southern Assault at SECR's homepage three times (six if you count that each image is flashed on screen twice :-])..

The best compliment that can be paid by a fellow builder is to show images or videos your bot's fights because they think the match is interesting enough to attract others. We are flattered beyond belief that everyone has taken so well to Moebius. Our hats are off to all of them with a grateful bow and a hearty Thank you!

Well, it is Valentines day and love is in the air... The love of Robotic Combat! Check out some of the latest pictures of Moebius here.

Moebius is back on the surgery table after his incredible showing at SECR (Southeast Combat Robotics) competition three weeks ago. Moebius took second place behind the Little Drummer Boy who is ranked third in the World in our weight class. Moebius suffered a broken power switch, among other things, thanks to several hits that he took from LDB.

We did another interview with a local television station last week where we fed Moebius a 16 pound bowling ball. Basically, we spun him up and threw the ball at him. One of the peices of the bowling ball was found two parking lots away! One of the shots that Moebius dished out threw the ball 30 feet up into the air and it landed 50 feet away right where a car was parked before we warned the driver to relocate his vehicle. When the article airs we will try to put a copy it it here on the site.

We also want to give a heart felt thanks to the folks over at Waterford Lakes Town Center who graciously allow us to do our testing in their parking lots.

 UCF Robotic Combat Club

The goal of UCF Robotic Combat Club is to promote creative engineering design and to learn the skills necessary to become a valuable engineer in the workforce. This gives the students the opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge to the test.

Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) is one of the founding organizations behind the UCF Robotic Combat Club. HKN is an national honors society for Electrical and Computer Engineers, so academics are highly stressed. Members must be in good standing with the university as well as their respective engineering department.

 Moebius

UCF Rc2 was started because several members are fans of Battlebots® which can be seen on Comedy Central every Tuesday night at 10:00 EST. We wanted to take the knowledge that we have in engineering principles and put them to the test against other builders around the world.

Our first robot (currently our only robot) is a middle weight robot named Moebius. We plan on entering him into the Fall Battlebots competiton against all middleweight challengers.

 About this site:

This site is designed to be our interface to the rest of the world regarding our efforts. Follow the engineering required to get Moebius from the drawing board to the drive way. Watch footage of Moebius in action as well as media coverage of the robot and the team. We invite you to join our discussion board and ask us questions or leave some comments.

Just use the navigational bar at the left to journey through our little part of cyberspace. Even though we have a hectic school and work schedule, we try to keep this site current and fully functional. It does get updated on a fairly regular basis so if you come across any dead links please feel free to let the webmaster know. It will be corrected in short order.

Enjoy your visit!
